Camera Raw

"Green Monster" * 5/12/2011 – 4:47 PM * Teton Valley, Idaho * f/6.3 * 1/1000 sec * Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT * I had to bend down so I could focused on the circle at the end of the machine. The lighting was great so focusing was easy to do and I captured a lot of blur, which I was pleased with.

I took the photo into Camera raw and did basic editing by increasing the exposure, adding blacks, and brought in a little more contrast. Then, I used the adjustment brush to increase exposure on yellow top of machine. I wanted to try the target adjustment tool so I decided to target the greens and it brought out the greens a little more and then increased blacks again.

"Tired Tire" * 5/12/2011 – 4:48 PM * Teton Valley, Idaho * f/6.3 * 1/320 sec * Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT * I wanted to find a good object to shoot at an angle and after I originally shot the photo, I noticed this could be tilt. I really like the angle I got.
When I edited this in Camera Raw, I first took down the exposure to bring out the black tire color better instead of increasing the blacks because I liked that effect better. I increased the contrast quite a bit so I could have the red pop out more. Then, I used the adjustment brush to increase the exposure in the red part of the wheel but I didn't do the whole area, only the areas that I assumed had light on them and wouldn't be covered by shadow. (This was hard to tell if I did it right.). Then I added a vignette to help the focus on the tire and the colors.
